Brittany Purrington, MA, LMHCA (she/her)
Do others tell you that you’re too sensitive? Do you doubt or second-guess yourself? Maybe you're not even sure of who you are because you've let others tell you who to be, what to do and what was right. You just want to feel seen, heard, and valued for who you are. If this sounds like you, I’m here to let you know that your story and your voice matters.
As a licensed mental health counselor associate, I’m trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS ) Level One, often referred to as parts work, and trained in Expressive Arts Therapy, which includes art, dance/movement, drama, music, and storytelling. In addition, I weave together a person-centered, trauma-informed, multicultural approach with psychodynamic theory.
All this mumbo jumbo to say that I help you build a strong, solid relationship with yourself so that you feel confident in showing up to your relationships and to your life authentically and unapologetically.
I work with highly sensitive adults navigating their identity who want to increase their feelings of self-worth. They may be experiencing a life transition (a move, a breakup/divorce, etc.), may identify as an adoptee, may have experienced relational/attachment trauma, or may be unsatisfied with how they’ve been living and are ready to start a journey in finding what makes them feel alive and joyful.
