Sofie Ellis-Wall, MA, LMHCA (She / Her)
Sofie Ellis-Wall graduated from the University of Washington’s Master of Arts in Child and Adolescent Psychology: Prevention and Treatment program. At her practicum site, the UW Haring Center's Experimental Education Unit, she provided mental health support to various classrooms and helped facilitate a social emotional prevention model for young children and their parents. During her undergraduate studies, she majored in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies, additionally completing a certification to teach infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms.
After graduate school, Sofie worked in community mental health at Seattle's Center for Human Services, serving families in offices, schools, and homes. She simultaneously opened her private practice, Sofie Wall Counseling LLC, and worked as an independent practitioner with Seattle Psychology. Her therapeutic approach stems from valuing each unique person and lived experience; meeting the client where they are at, learning their strengths, and individualizing treatment guided by multiple evidence-based practices.
Areas of specialty include working with children and adolescents (ages 0-16) and parents, to support navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life adjustments, neurodiversity, and behavioral challenges. Sofie seeks to partner with clients to investigate the meaning behind behaviors, to better understand themselves, and to learn how to cope through challenges while holding self-compassion.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, she is also passionate about supporting those exploring their gender and/or sexual orientation identities. Sofie finds it imperative to act from an anti-racist, anti-oppression lens and recognize the impacts of systemic and generational trauma. Her mission is to create a safe, engaging, therapeutic space free of judgment and to destigmatize mental health struggles.
